The first week

The initial days are about rest and letting your body begin to heal. Some swelling, tightness, and discomfort are normal and manageable with the guidance and support your care team provides.

Most patients plan for about one to two weeks away from work, depending on the procedure and how physically demanding their day is.

Weeks two through six

As the first week passes, many patients feel noticeably more comfortable and begin easing back into daily routines, following personalized activity guidance.

Swelling continues to settle gradually, and the final shape and position continue to refine over the following weeks and months — patience during this window is part of the process.

Setting yourself up for a smooth recovery

A little preparation goes a long way:

  • Arrange help at home for the first few days
  • Wear comfortable, front-opening clothing
  • Follow aftercare instructions closely, including any garments
  • Keep follow-up appointments
  • Rest — healing is not the time to push through

When to reach out

Your care team is your resource. If anything feels concerning or simply unclear, it's always right to call. Dr. Arsenous and her team remain closely available throughout recovery to answer questions and keep you feeling confident and cared for.
